Erwan Heussaff shared his thoughts on maintaining friendships with people who hold different political opinions.
On Threads, Erwan responded to a post by entrepreneur and investor Zac Alviz, who asked, “Is it really worth throwing away years of friendship because you have different political opinions?”
Erwan explained that differing political views are not necessarily an issue, but moral boundaries should still be taken into consideration.
"Political opinions, no. But if it crosses into moral territory, yes.
I.e If someone was the most charitable person you knew, but was also a known sexual abuser. If you can tolerate that and support that person, it says alot about ones moral character."

Additionally, Erwan pointed out another red flag people should watch out for.
"Another red flag is if a person can only say positive things about their chosen politicians. We all know no one is perfect or even close to it, so if you can't challenge your own beliefs, we can't be friends."
Erwan also emphasized the importance of practicing discernment, especially when it comes to the people we support and whether their actions align with our values.
"We should constantly practice discernment. Not blindly defend the people we support, but regularly question whether our choices still align with our values."
