Eugene Domingo

Eugene Domingo revealed that she hid in a closet to deal with her feelings.

When talking about Filipina comedians, Eugene Domingo's name would always appear on top because of her notable contributions to the film and television industry.

Not only is she skilled in doing comedy; but she also knows how to deliver drama roles.

But like other actresses, Eugene is not exempt from experiencing work burnout.

During her latest appearance on GTV's cooking talk show Lutong Bahay, Eugene opened up to Mikee Quintos and Hazel Cheffy about what caused her burnout and how she handled the situation.

“Work ka nang work, ganyan, tapos breadwinner ka rin in a way, tapos parang kapag nag-wo-work ka, you give your all and then ma-i-involve ka pa sa mga intriga,” Eugene told Mikee and Hazel Cheffy.

She said, “Nagpatong-patong. Nakaka-exhaust.”

Due to overwhelming emotions, Eugene said she once locked herself inside a cabinet.

“One day, I [found] myself hiding, literally, in the cabinet. Parang gusto mo lang ng katahimikan, ng kadiliman, [at] ng space na walang iba kung hindi ikaw,” said Eugene.

Eventually, Eugene picked herself up and acknowledged her feelings so she could work on it.

“Dumating 'yung point na 'yun na hindi normal. So I acknowledged it; tinanggap ko na I [was] tired [and] I should do something about [it]. So I wrote, I prayed [because] I had to talk to something more powerful than me…” said Eugene.

“Minsan, tatanggapin mo rin na hindi ka ganoon kalakas,” she added.
