
It's gonna be one sizzling summer shebang at the Gapo Summer Music Festival 2023: Hotta Hataw Olongapo as some of the hottest bands take centerstage at the Remy Field, Subic Bay Freeport Zone in Olongapo City on Black Saturday, April 8, 2023.
With Holy Week just around the corner, netizens will surely be itching to hie off to their favorite out of town destinations. Where else to go but Olongapo City, the hotbed of Pinoy Rock and the country's cradle of tourism.
Millennials will definitely swoon over concert headliner, GMA-7 artist and Pambansang Ginoo David Licauco, who skyrocketed to fame as Fidel in the top-rating historical portal Kapuso teleserye Maria Clara at Ibarra. The newest oppa ng bayan is also a crooner whose rendition of “Kailangan Kita” trended on social media, thanks to its inclusion in the TV series' soundtrack.
Other major performers include upcoming pop royalty Sofia Romualdez (“Nobody, “Rush), OPM upstart SunKissed Lola (with their Spotify hits “Dama,” “Pasilyo,” “HKP,” and “Makalimutan Ka,” and Pinoy rap artist Kiyo, best known for his collaborative singles “Eba,” “Urong Sulong” with producer Alisson Shore, his breakthrough song “Ikaw Lang,” and other hits “Okay Lang Yan' and “Harana Sa Sarili.”
Meanwhile, GenXers will definitely be looking forward to hearing '80s superband Neocolours, who will surely trigger major nostalgic feelings with their hit songs “Tuloy Pa Rin,” “Hold On,” “Say You'll Never Go,” “Maybe” and many more.
The concert also features other homegrown Olongapo-based performers, including Elizabeth Villanda, Jade Cayosa, Javis Paat, Brianna Jade Clark, Dream Ville, Color of Blue, Chrome, Sketchy Paradise and Aero Lites.
The fund-raising concert is for the benefit of St. Joseph College Olongapo City. Proceeds from the show will be earmarked for the restoration of its school church, the construction of a new school building for multi-media arts, as well as for its scholarship foundation and a medical mission targeting 5,000 destitute patients.
