People have known Michael V., Beethoven del Valle Bunagan in real life, as an accomplished comedian and creative director.

But behind his accomplishment is a person who shaped him to do his very best in his most important job--being a father.

In an exclusive chat with GMANetwork.com, Direk Bitoy candidly talked about the biggest life lesson his late dad, Cesar Bunagan has taught him.

Michael shared, “Kahit hindi n'ya naman “directly” itinuro sa akin, natutunan ko sa tatay to enjoy life. Experience everything you can and have fun doing it. And as much as you can, enjoy it with your family.”

On Father's Day, June 20, fans of the award-winning comedian will get to watch his debut film 'Family History' exclusively on GMA-7.

With the country still in the midst of the ongoing pandemic, Michael V., a COVID-19 survivor himself, hopes that the story of this family drama can help his fellow kababayans who have lost family members due to this dreaded virus find the strength to keep going in life.

He recalled, “Actually nu'ng nagsisimula na 'yung mga balita about unexpected deaths ng mga kababayan natin dahil sa COVID, 'yung Family History talaga ang pumasok sa isip ko e; especially the theme song (“Ba't Gano'n?”).”

“Siguradong makaka-relate sila sa theme ng story and I hope na makahugot sila ng lakas at ng learnings when they finally get to see it on Father's Day,” Bitoy added.

Family History tells the story of a simple family man named Alex Dela Cruz (Michael V.), whose perfect life turned upside-down after he learns that his wife May (Dawn Zulueta) has cancer.
