Matapos ang successful run ng kanyang afternoon soap na 'Babawiin Ko Ang Lahat', nag-decide si Pauline Mendoza na magbukas ng sarili niyang business.
Aside from being an actress, you can now add another title to Pauline Mendoza's name: she's a business owner, too.
After spending her time promoting the soap Babawiin Ko Ang Lahat in the early part of this year, she decided to open up a new business venture--her very own skincare store in Alaminos, Pangasinan--after the show ended last May.
Pauline, who is also a working student taking up Interior Design at the College of Saint Benilde, revealed in her exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com the reason she decided to put up her very own business at a young age.
She told GMANetwork.com that she was inspired by Beautederm CEO Rhea Anicoche-Tan, whom she fondly calls Mommy Rei.
“Actually, matagala-tagal din siya, kasi nga sa Beautederm hindi lang ako basta ambassador, so tini-train din kami ni Mommy Rei, siya 'yung CEO ng Beautederm na sinasabi niya sa amin, 'Nak! Kailangan meron ka pa rin fallback', which is 'yun nga 'yung studies ko and soon kailangan matuto ka rin na kung paano papalawakin 'yung pera mo na hindi ka lang labas ng labas.
“You know ang dami kong natutunan with Mommy Rei, hindi lang siya basta CEO, kaya ko nga siya tinatawag na Mommy, kasi parang siya naming nanay, sobrang dami niyang knowledge shini-share about us.
“Ine-educate niya kami sa negosyo, ganyan, so nakikinig-kinig lang ako at talagang na-inspire ako sa life niya--kung ano 'yung sinimulan niya and now she's really successful and talagang parang number one businesswoman na siya ngayon. So, nakaka-inspire.”
Mommy Rei also helped her out in this new milestone in her life as well.
The Kapuso star added, “And then, binigyan nga niya ako ng opportunity, ''Nak, magtayo ka ng store, magtayo ka ng sarili mong Beautederm store. Magtayo ka ng online business mo,'
“And sinasabi niya, 'Huwag ka mahiya mag-tinda, lalo na kung maganda naman 'yung produkto mo.'”
Pauline also stressed that she wants to diversify her income and not solely rely on her talent fee as an artista.
“As a 21-year-old, ayaw ko lang umasa sa studies ko, ayaw ko lang umasa sa career ko as an actress. Gusto ko meron pa rin iba, as in lumawak talaga siya.”
