PENTAGON member and multi-talented artist KINO revealed why he decided to launch his own music label, NAKED.
KINO established this one-man agency after deciding not to renew his contract with Cube Entertainment last October.
"Over the years [of] my time in show business, I found what KINO can do well and elements that will differentiate [me] from the others," he said in a virtual interview with GMANetwork.com.
"To be honest, it may seem like a risk to some and finding people who share the same vision. So, I decided to trust myself and take the leap of faith, trying it on my own," he added.
KINO admitted the fact that being self-managed is physically challenging as there are so many things he has to learn now that he is on the "business" side.
"For 13 years, I was on the creative side of the business but being on the 'business' side was a whole new world. There were many things I had to learn. Learning one thing as a musician was not easy but you had to learn [five to six] things concurrently.
"It is physically challenging but the achievement and the enjoyment I get during the process along the way made [it possible for me to continue]," he shared.
Despite departing Cube Entertainment with other PENTAGON members Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Wooseok, and Hongseok, KINO stated that "PENTAGON is and will be forever."
"We are at the stage of our career to learn and grow individually, so we can be even stronger when [we] get back together. Even if we are under different management, we think about projects we could work together as a group."
On January 8, KINO released his first single "Fashion Style" under NAKED. Through this song, he wants the listeners to have confidence and be comfortable in their own skin and not try to be someone else.
