Many think that Megan Young is living a luxurious life after winning in the Miss World pageant in 2013, but her simplicity is one trait that Mikael Daez loves about her.

She revealed in an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com that the sweetest thing Mikael did for her is far from being extravagant. In fact, she considers packing things for her a romantic gesture.

She shared, “He packed my bags for me one time and I was at work and sinamahan n’ya ko for a work trip. Tapos I was so tired, and after my event parang may konting oras na lang at kailangan ko nang umalis papuntang airport, tapos pag-uwi ko sa hotel, naka-empake lahat ng gamit ko. Tapos parang nag-prepare siya ng clothes para dun sa side trip namin, and so nakakatuwa na naiisip niyang gawin ‘yun. So for me, being able to help me out and lessen the low of things, is more romantic than flowers and candlelit dinner. Ayoko ng cheesy talaga, so mas romantic yun.”

The beauty queen even signaled Mikael that he should not do something grand to please her.

“I am not really a flower-kind of person. Kasi n’ung first time naming mag-date ni Mikael, sabi ko ‘wag ka nang magsayang ng pera sa flowers kasi ‘di ko ma-appreciate, pagkain na lang.”

They are on their seventh year as a couple but they are not planning to settle down yet because of their showbiz commitments.

Megan and Mikael will star in the upcoming afternoon series, The Stepdaughters which will air this February.
