Mikee Quintos was a new face in 2016 but she has easily turned into a household name as plays the role of Lira in the requel of the much-loved telefantasya, Encantadia. What was the young Kapuso star’s secret to success?
Mikee admits that she didn’t expect to gain much popularity and recognition so fast. While she enjoys her celebrity, she doesn’t take full accountability for it and uses it to motivate herself further.
The actress claims, “Merong ibang factors kung bakit nagiging ganito ‘yung path ng career ko – the people around me, the people who believe in me. Mas napu-push ko ‘yung sarili ko, ‘Okay, if they see it in me, kahit hindi ko nakikita sa sarili ko, it must be [there]. Siguro, so just go for it.’”
She also adds how she was challenged by the past year but life lessons from her family kept her sane.
“Change in a way na sobrang daming nagbago sa life ko na di ko mapipigilan na ma-shake somehow pero what I keep in mind is that I have to keep my values with me, kung ano ‘yung tinuro sa akin ng parents ko, kung ano ‘yung natututunan ko sa lahat ng mga nangyari,” Mikee explains.
