EXO-SC, an EXO sub-unit EXO sub-unit composed of Sehun and Chanyeol, were very hands-on in the production of their first full album '1 Billion Views' which was released yesterday, July 13.

The duo participated in writing and producing all nine tracks in their first full album.

Sehun and Chanyeol sat down with Gaeko, the album's producer and one of their featured artists, to talk about the songs that they worked on.

Sehun shared that the album was very personal to them.

"Chanyeol and I talked about the stories we want to tell and Gaeko cleared up our ideas in the middle. He cleared things up. So the songs contain a lot of sincere stories from Chanyeol and me. I hope you can relate to our sentiments when you listen to our songs," he says.

Chanyeol also revealed the inspiration behind their title track, "1 Billion Views."

"'1 Billion Views' is very retro, disco-style hip hop song. We're living in a world of video platforms like YouTube and online content these days. We wanted to reflect this trend in our song in a clever way and talk about how even after one billion views, we can never be tired of seeing our lover," he explains.

When asked about their favorite songs in the album, Sehun revealed that he liked "Fly Away."

"It's 'Fly Away' for me. Because like I just said, it's about our childhood. The first verse was supposed to be about Chanyeol and the second verse was supposed to be about me. But one day Chanyeol suggested 'Let's sing each other's story,'" he recalls.

He says that he felt pressured to sing well for the song.

"When I read the lyrics, I could really empathize with it. I could imagine Chanyeol when he was young. So I felt pressured to sing this song even better than my solo song. I get emotional when I listen to this song," he recounts.

Chanyeol's pick was "Rodeo Station" as it reminds him of his days as a trainee.

"My favorite song is 'Rodeo Station.' Gaeko first gave me the idea about 'Rodeo Station' during song camp. After he finished the song and sent it to me, it really felt like our story. Because the most memorable period in my life was when I was a trainee," he says.

He also recalls having a lot of fun while recording the song.

"If 'Fly Away' is about when I was young, 'Rodeo Station' is about when I was a trainee and up until now. I could see every emotion and scenes flash by me. I posted on the group chat room that I got emotional listening to 'Rodeo Station.' And we had a good time recording the song," he shares.

EXO-SC also dropped a pre-release track called "Telephone" featuring 10CM.

They also has individual music videos for their solos, namely Chanyeol's "Nothin'" and Sehun's "On Me."
