Asianovela Diva Faith Cuneta recently opened up to GMANetwork.com about the current status she has with her husband who is miles away from her and her three-year-old son Ethan.
Faith Cuneta is married to an American named Bill Petitte who is currently based in Guam, making them a long-distanced relationship or L.D.R.
She said during the one-on-one interview, “We started na LDR na, e, so we're used to it.
“Although it's sad kasi we're used to seeing each other every two months--it's either we go there or he comes here.
“Tapos nga he was supposed to be here on April pero ayon, nangyari na nga 'yung COVID, so we don't know when are we gonna see each other again.”
If there's one thing she's grateful for during the pandemic, it's the presence of technology that allows her to communicate with her husband every day.
Saying, “Thank you na lang sa technology, FaceTime and all, sa video chat. We're used to it na--video chatting.”
Despite the travel ban being slowly lifted, Faith said she'll wait for a vaccine first before booking any flights to Guam.
“The thing is magku-quarantine pa rin ako ng two weeks doon, e.
“Kaya parang its a waste of time, two weeks ka sa hotel na mag-isa kaya 'wag na lang.
“We'll just wait... baka mga next year na lang.”
Aside from sustaining her long-distance relationship, Faith is also juggling her role as a mother to her son Ethan, who just turned 3 years old last June 12.
She recalled how she and Ethan celebrated their birthdays during the lockdown through a simple gathering with her family.
“Dito lang kami sa bahay [the whole time].
“I ordered food tapos 'yung iba luto ng mommy ko. Of course, mayroon kaming cake and my son blew the candles [for me].”
She added, “We also celebrated his birthday noong June 12.
“We had a swimming party [during his birthday], kasi we have a portable pool and he loves to swim.
“And then 'yung nagdedesign ng parties ko before designed the garage na pang party.
“So nagmukhang resort 'yung bahay namin on that day. It was fun and we had a mini-barbeque.”
When asked if her son ever had an itch to go out during the quarantine, she answered, “Ay, no.
“He's only 3 years old, so maraming siyang activities dito sa bahay and never naman siyang nagsabi na I want to go out.
"Never pa naman kasi nga marami siyang activities.”
