Former Binibining Pilipinas Universe 1994 Charlene Gonzalez recently underwent emergency appendectomy at the St. Luke's Hospital in Quezon City.

On her Instagram post last November 5, Charlene related how she found out that she was suffering form appendicitis.

“I went in for a checkup for pain in the right lower abdomen, hip area.

“My blood test were normal but my CT Scan showed otherwise.

“I had appendicitis and needed immediate surgery the same day to remove my appendix to prevent rupture.

“Thank you to my anesthesiologists Dra. Ruiz & my surgeon Dr. Amado for the care and painless surgery who performed a laparoscopic appendectomy.. [heart emoji] Plus, all the kind nurses who took care of me.”

It was a bittersweet moment for Charlene because her family had to celebrate the 18th birthday of her twins Andres and Atasha at the hospital.

The celebrity mom expressed her heartfelt gratitude to her kids for their 'endless love' and for staying in the hospital to be with her on their special day.

“Thank you to my family for your endless love & for keeping me company in the hospital.. my mom, @agamuhlach & for Andres @aagupy & @atashamuhlach_ to spend their 18th birthday with me there and keep me company [heart emoji] I love you all so much [heart emoji]”

Charlene added that she is resting and doing well.

“Here's to a fast & swift recovery #i'mdoingwellnow #onmywayhome to rest & recover [heart emoji]. ”

Thank you St. Luke's Q.C. Hospital under the care of our family doctor internist, Dra. Ubungen. I went in for a check up for pain in the right lower abdomen, hip area. A quick check on the comment section of her Instagram page showed that many celebrities are praying for her fast recovery too.

Charlene was also not able to join her husband, Aga Muhlach, at the premiere night of his movie with Alice Dixson on Monday, November 4, because of the emergency surgery.
