Weeks following Mikael Daez and Megan Young's surprise wedding, the couple revealed that the latter's iceberg's engagement ring was designed and made by Mikael's grandmother who is a jeweler.
According to Mikael's grandmom, Amelita Daez, she made the ring specifically for Megan's preference and taste.
“It's not easy to get that stone. The cutters, they cut big, big colored-stones, but she didn't want a big one.
“She's that simple,” Amelita shared.
But unlike any other engagement rings, which was given as a gift and by surprise, Megan revealed that she personally chose her engagement ring.
“Mikael and I have been engaged for five years,” Megan bared.
“That was a minor detail that you have to know,” Mikael said. “It was a spontaneous proposal around four and a half years ago. At dahil spontaneous, hindi naman ako handa. Wala akong ring.”
According to Mikael, the rings bluestone and the diamonds around it symbolize the simplicity and brilliance of Megan.
Also, the newlywed bared that the ring was inspired by the video game Ragnarok.
“We can send you a photo of that and it looks exactly like it. So it's a video game ring. 'Yun 'yung naging peg namin,” said Mikael.
“Alam ko naman na ang tradition was diamonds pero mas importante sa 'kin kung ano 'yung gusto niya personally,” he added.
