Therese Malvar and dad

Therese Malvar pays tribute to her amazing dad: "He's the one who gives me hope."

Now that Father's Day draws near, Kapuso actress Therese Malvar shared how her father Jaymee Malvar helped her in achieving her dreams of becoming a singer and an actress.

In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, the actress-singer revealed the biggest lesson she learned from her dad that made all things possible for her.

“'You can and you will. If others can do it, so can you.'

“I think that's the biggest lesson for me kasi ever since I was young, he kept telling me that para to give me hope that if others can do it, you can too.

“If you believe in yourself, there's this law of attraction that it will really happen if you really believe that you can do it,” she said.

Therese then revealed that she wants to take after her father's kindness and openness.

“And one thing that I would love to learn is how he treats others equally. I would like to have that same personality as well.

“Kasi siyempre hindi natin maiiwasan minsan talaga na we prejudge someone no matter who it is. Kaya minsan nagkakaroon ng wall pero I would like to be as open as he is with others,” she added.

Meanwhile, with her acting prowess, Therese bagged numerous awards locally and internationally and already made history in Philippine Cinema.
