Miss Universe

The Miss Universe organization has introduced online vote for Miss Congeniality and a number of other categories.

The competition continues to heat up at the Miss Universe pageant as the organization has revealed the new way that delegates can win awards for this year's pageant - which will be up to the delegates' supporters.

In one of the more recent posts on its official Instagram account, the Miss Universe organization revealed this year's Miss Congeniality will be determined through online voting on the Miss Universe app. The Miss Congeniality award was previously determined by the delegates themselves, who would vote for the queen who embodies “grace, friendly demeanor, and an all-around great attitude.”

Aside from Miss Congeniality, pageant aficionados can now also vote for other categories, namely Most Beautiful People, Beyond the Crown, Most Photogenic, People's Choice, Best Skin, Best Evening Gown, and Best National Costume.

Supporters can vote on the app by watching adds or buying votes on the app itself.

The new Miss Congeniality rules, as well as the voting for the other categories, are just the latest news to come out of the pageant. The Miss Universe organization recently announced that the coronation night's commentary hosts will be Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres and Miss Universe 2022 R'Bonney Gabriel. In the caption to its post, the organization said that the pair would be the audience's voices through the show and will share “the best reactions, stories, and unforgettable moments live from the 74th Miss Universe Competition.”

Of course, Filipinos remember Dayanara Torres for her five-year stay in the country, where she became a local celebrity and the star of multiple movies and the host of multiple local television shows.

Meanwhile, R'Bonney Gabriel is a Filipino-American Miss Universe who has been living here in the country over the past few months, even making visits to Ilocos Norte for free diving and sandboarding.

She has also spent Easter in Bohol with her loved ones and hiked the Masungi Georeserve.

The Philippine candidate, Ahtisa Manalo, is currently in Bangkok, Thailand. Just a few days ago, there was a lively send-off arranged for her by Filipino fans.

On the Instagram post of Miss Universe Philippines, the organization thanked the people who went to NAIA Terminal 1 departure area to send off Ahtisa.
