So how did the man behind the purple mask become Fantastic? This and many more questions will be answered in GMA's Summer spin-off to Vic Sotto's
Fantasticman!
Originally created and portrayed by the "Bossing," the movie-turned-series will star Bad Boy of the Dance Floor
Mark Herras. "Ngayon lang ako nagkaroon ng sariling show, pero siyempre, ito 'yung parang pinaka mabigat na trabaho, and sobrang pressured po ako, " he admits." Sabi ko if po na if ever may hindi ako maintindihan about the character, siguro lalapit ako kay Tito Vic, pero siyempre nahihiya ako!"
Direk Zoren Legaspi, who's set to head the series, imparts that they really had Mark in mind when they were conceptualizing the show. "Dahil 'yung character, bagay sa kanya in the sense na slim kasi si Fantastic Man, so yung costume namin, kailangan, hindi well-built na muscular na superhero.Tapos 'yung character niya, dahil taga-province siya, may dating na pagka-probinsyano - na kaya ni Mark!"
Mark shares that the staff is even making him quote
Vic Sotto's popular line after every heroic rescue: " Hi fans!" Bagay naman kay Mark, di ba?
Mark also spills that he loves the way his costume fits him, although he's "medyo ilang nang konti." "Ilang" in the sense that he's wearing something that could pass off for second skin, but he's still happy because it actually flatters his lean physique- without the help of padding!
The iGMA team was lucky enough to catch Mark in costume during their official photo shoot, so better watch out for that in the coming weeks. In the meantime, check out our exclusive behind-the-scenes photos of
Fantastic Man's tapings!
