In the special web episode of Glow Up, beauty queen hopeful Yzabel Norada got the chance to meet noted fashion designer Bessie Besana and was also able to grab some tips from the designer on what to wear to achieve that winning pageant look.

Similarly, we've rounded up a few tips from Bessie himself to help you get ready for your crowning moment.

Accentuate your curves

“Blossom” 🌸 When Jessica asked me to collaborate, we envisioned her to wear a gown that will feature where she is in her life. This gown depicts the blossoming of a flower, a flower that blooms at the right place at the right time. And that time is now. #BinibiningPilipinas 🌸 Jessica you are a beautiful flower. Bloom your best. 💗@jessicamarasigann

The fashion designer says he prefers women who accentuate their womanly silhouette. No matter the body type, one can achieve this by cinching a belt around the waist or wearing dresses that highlight the area.

He says, “We tighten [the dresses] in the waist area para ma-accentuate 'yung sinasabi nilang Coca-Cola body.

“And naniniwala ako na 'di lahat ng babae nabigyan ng magandang balakang or magandang figure, so sa pagdadamit nadadaya natin 'yun.”

Don't be afraid of color

For the winning pageant look, Bessie says it's best to always opt for a pop of color to stand among your competitors.

“Something red or green will really work in the stage,” he advices. But at the same time, he adds that one must also “keep in mind her skin tone”.

Play with illusion

Because we all have different body types, Bessie recommends going for a cut that will go best with your frame.

For ruler body-typed girls, he recommends going for gowns that give shape - either a gown with a second skirt or going for a princess cut gown.

Don't be afraid to show some skin

If one prefers, Bessie suggests that beauty contestants can also go for a bit of skin while on stage. It gives off that sexy appeal and a deep neckline makes the wearer appear taller than usual.

Now that you've got the look down, Bessie Besana also shared some tips on how to ace the question and answer portion.
