The I Left My Heart in Sorsogon star was recently spotted rocking an all-black outfit that perfectly combines formal and casual wear.

Heart wore a black drawstring tulle-panel jacket from Monse that is worth $2,283 or PhP114,219, according to farfetch.com, and a black Monse biker shorts that is priced $350 or PhP17,510 on their website.

To complete her chic, casual look, Heart wore a pair of black mandals (man sandals) that looked comfy and stylish at the same time.

Some celebrities can't help but react to Heart's lit OOTD, including former Encantadia star Iza Calzado, Bubble Gang actress Lovely Abella and Asia's Next Top Model Cycle 2 first runner-up Jodilly Pendre.

Iza even noticed the mandals that Heart was rocking. She commented, “Nice sandals! ”

To which Heart replied, “@missizacalzado heheheh I borrowed it hahahah.”

Mandals are not exactly new. They've been around for quite some time, but are now having their moment in fashion.

As the name suggests, the mandals or man sandals are originally worn by men dating as far back as the ancient times when Roman and Greek soldiers wore the buskins or sandals that were made from sagebrush bark.

Over time, the design and the materials used for making mandals have evolved and the way they are worn. From being exclusively a men's summer shoe, it has now become a unisex footwear.

During the '90s, the Birkenstock mandals became a fad, and people wore them with socks.

Before, the mandals were once notoriously known as the “ugly sandals” as they were deemed unfashionable and unflattering.

Ironically, it has now become one of the newest trends in fashion, and has also turned into a more versatile footwear.

Women can wear it with a pair of jeans or shorts, and even with a dress.

And if you're afraid that it'll look “too masculine,” rocking a pretty pedicure just like Heart's pink-colored toenails should do the trick.
