Kylie Verzosa wears P50M-worth of jewelry in Cannes

Kylie Verzosa is still on cloud nine after her first experience in the highly acclaimed Cannes Film Festival last May 2023.
“Sobrang saya po. Honestly, it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” the Miss International 2016 happily shared in an interview with GMANetwork.com and other entertainment media at the opening of LVNA by Dustin Drake's store at the Shangri-La Plaza Mall on Thursday, June 8.
She continued, “Nakakapagod, at the same time, super awarding naman kaya happy ako na napagdaanan ko yun. Ang dami kong natutunan. I was given the opportunity to see the international scene. Ang dami kong nakita na mga artista, sina Johnny Depp, [Leonardo DiCaprio], super saya!”
According to Kylie, she was invited to the prestigious film festival because she won Best Actress in Distinctive International Arab Festivals Awards 2022 in November 2022.
“That's how they know me. They saw me when I won the Best Actress award in Dubai. 'Tapos, in-invite nila ako through my PR in Dubai,” she related.
Kylie was only supposed to attend the opening of the 76th Cannes Film Festival in France. But later on, she got invitations to the red-carpet premiere of Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon and Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire's and Sean Penn's Black Flies.
“Sobrang suwerte po, actually, dapat isa lang yung red carpet pero naimbitahan ako nang naimbitahan,” Kylie said with a big smile.
Kylie's red-carpet experience during the Cannes Film Festival was even made more special when she was tagged as one of the best dressed by several fashion-oriented social media platforms.
“I'm so surprised. Siyempre, baguhan lang ako sa Cannes, di ba? Pero noong una nga akong lumabas, ang dami nang best dressed [features],” she said.
Kylie admitted that she only had a few weeks to prepare for her looks in Cannes. She was grateful that fashion designer Mark Bumgarner and LVNA jewelry owner Dustin Drake Ibay were generous enough to provide everything she needed.
According to Kylie, she had to carry six pieces of luggage for her dresses.
What about her jewelry, which cost about PhP50 million?
She replied, “Of course, hinand carry ko yun! It's very well-secured naman.”
