School’s back in session, and some of our favorite artists are looking for a little reminiscing. What do the celebrities remember when asked about school? That’s what iGMA wants you to know, so read on! Compiled by Jillian Q. Gatcheco and Jason S. Lim. Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio and Jason S. Lim.
Rhian Ramos: “The group projects, really. The group projects are always gonna be something I’ll miss, because yeah, I go to school now, but it’s home school, so it’s like solitary confinement! I never have those group projects anymore, even if I’m usually the one who ends up doing them! But it was always fun to have the friends over to ‘brainstorm’ kahit hindi naman kayo nagbe-‘brainstorm.’ It’s like you and your friends are actually working towards a goal—that’s what I really miss!”
Dingdong Dantes: “High school! Sa likod ng gubat, the boundary is the wall of LGV. Doon nakaparada yung motorsiklo ng kaklase namin. Tuwing lunch, tinatawid namin yung wall tapos lumalabas kami ng school! Tatlo kami sa isang motor, tumatakas kami! We did it for a year. Hindi kami nahuli! [But] I think it’s already closed now."
Jean Garcia: “Chika sa mga classmates! The best yun!
Chynna Ortaleza: “I have a lot of nice school memories. I’ve never had a bad day in school, I think! I’m pretty lucky! Being freshmen, everyone kept on teasing [us] and everything, and we had intramurals. Noong first year kami [sa OB Montessori], we tried creating a cheering squad, but it was like the worst cheering squad in the world! We had the worst uniforms that went up to our knees, and straw yung pom-poms—basta we lost! The next year, we were really determined to show them that we were not chicken. ‘Cos everyone kept on calling us ‘basang sisiw’ or something. Sabi ko, ano ba naman ito, let’s try and make a squad! So to make a long story short, we were able to bounce back and we won first place. So I was really, really happy and that inspired me to be a dancer and cheerleader after.”
Harry Santos: “Siguro yung after a long vacation, magkikita-kita ulit kayong mga classmates.
Bubbles Paraiso: “I guess it’s in college. I went to UA&P. Whenever I’d have three to four hour breaks, my friends and I would just go to the mall, watch a movie, or pig out!”
Bb. Joyce Bernal: “Mga film orgies namin.
[Tapos pag] right after school, diretso sa gimmick with friends, hang out, or minsan, cutting classes! Hahaha!”
