In love stories, true to life or not, there always are valiant lovers who will do anything for the ones they care for. And in the afternoon drama series Pati ba Pintig ng Puso? , it is the hunky Marco Alcaraz who plays the role of a man who is ready to risk all for love. Text by Jessa Ericka C. Bien. Photos courtesy of Mitch S. Mauricio. stars After his years in show business, Marco finally gets a break that can show his abilities as a dramatic actor. Landing a role in Sine Novela’s newest offering, he now gives life to Bien, a humble and poor fisherman who falls madly in love with the rich Mabelle (Chynna Ortaleza). Because of he is from a poor background, the autocratic Don Griego (Eddie Gutierrez) forces him to part ways with Mabelle. While Mabelle is put in the asylum, he endures physical torture and six long years in prison for a crime he did not commit. When he is finally released from jail, he vows to look for his only love and take revenge on the man who caused their separation – despite his family’s contradictions. The dedication of his character is also the reason why Marco says viewers can expect him to be very emotional, especially when he thinks about his relationship with Mabelle. “Sobrang dramatic iyong role. Awang-awa ako (kay Mabelle), so I’ll try to save her from Don Griego” he says. stars Formerly portrayed by the now-deceased actor Joel Alano, Marco admits there is pressure for him to perform as good as, if not better, than his predecessor. This pressure, he continues, also extends to everyone in the show. “Siyempre, a lot of people are expecting (good things from us). Kasi hit talaga ‘to dati, so we’re trying are best para mapantayan ‘yung movie before” he explains.
