Filipino-American stunt coordinator marks his debut in directing as his film Love Hurts makes its premiere.

Love Hurts, a romantic action comedy starring Oscar Academy Award winners Ke Huy Quan and Ariana DeBose, premieres on February 7.

The movie tells the story of Marvin Gable (Quan), a thriving realtor whose dark past as a hitman resurfaces when his ex-partner Rose (DeBose) tells him that his brother, Knuckles (played by Hong Kong actor Daniel Wu), is after him.

On Wednesday, Jonathan shared his moment from the world premiere of Love Hurts at the TCL Chinese Theaters on February 3.

He wrote in his caption, "Fights, falls and big wrecks I can handle … public speaking on the other hand... Thank you to everyone who attended the world premiere of Love Hurts at the TCL Chinese Theaters on Feb 3rd. This ride has been an absolute blast. Thank you to @universalpictures and @87northaction for making and supporting the film. Thank you to my producers @kmc_87n @davidmleitch and Guy Danella for taking care of me through the whole process."

Jonathan has also worked as a stunt coordinator for The Fall Guy, Black Panther, John Wick, The Matrix Resurrections, Deadpool 2, Doctor Strange, The Avengers, The Bourne Legacy, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, 300, among many others.

Love Hurts is co-produced by 87North's David Leitch, a fellow stuntman and filmmaker who helmed movies like John Wick, Deadpool 2, Hobbs & Shaw, Bullet Train, and The Fall Guy.

Love Hurts is scheduled to premiere in Philippine cinemas in February 2025.
