
In celebration of Filipino American History Month, GMA Pinoy TV proudly presents a special documentary on the homecoming of an extraordinary Filipina.
Thirty years after she moved to the United States, Filipina executive chef in Hollywood Chef Vallerie Castillo-Archer returns to the Philippines, and one of the things she plans to do is give back to the local community.
"I miss the Philippines," she told GMA Pinoy TV
"I am an Ilokana. Coming home, I didn't want to come empty-handed so I want to give something back and since I love shoes, I want to give it back to the kids."
"It brings me closer tothe kids, and I just love watching their faces and their smiles."
Vallerie is the first female executive chef in the famous Los Angeles hilltop restaurant Yamashiro Hollywood.
She told GMA Pinoy TV, "It took Yamashiro almost a hundred years before naming it's first woman executive chef."
Her passion for food has led her to this honor, as well as meeting Hollywood stars including Cardi B, Nicki Minah, Bruno Mars, Anderson Paak, and homegrown talents such as Pops Fernandez, Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, Arnel Pineda, among others.
