At just 14 years old, Filipino-British actress Eve Ridley is already making her big-screen debut in one of the most highly anticipated superhero films.
Eve is part of the main cast of the upcoming movie Supergirl, where she stars alongside Milly Alcock, who plays the titular heroine, and Jason Momoa, who takes on the role of Lobo.
Based on the comic book series by Tom King, the film follows the story of Ruthye Marye Knoll, portrayed by Eve, a young alien determined to avenge her father's murder. Along the way, Ruthye forms an unlikely friendship with Supergirl, who joins her quest for justice.
Born in Tyneside, England, Eve has Filipino roots through her mother's side of the family.
"My grandma grew up in the Philippines and my mom is half Filipino," she shared with GMA News stringer Janet Nepales .
Although she has yet to visit the country, Eve said traveling to the Philippines is one of her dreams.
"I really want to go to the Philippines someday," she said.
"It looks like such a beautiful island country. I really want to go to one of the beaches there. They look so tropical and gorgeous."
The young actress also revealed that she hopes to learn Tagalog so she can better communicate with relatives in the Philippines.
Before landing her breakthrough movie role, Eve appeared on stage as young Eponine in the UK tour of Les Misérables. She said performing in the theater and acting on screen each come with their own challenges.
"It's very different to screen," Eve said. "I think the stage can sometimes be a little bit harder because it's live and you don't get to retake anything."
She began her acting career as a voice actress on the animated children's series Peppa Pig before appearing in an episode of the BBC medical drama Casualty. She later joined the cast of the science-fiction series 3 Body Problem and fantasy drama The Witcher, and is also set to lend her voice to the animated series Blue Eye Samurai.

For Supergirl, Eve underwent two months of intensive stunt training before filming began.
"I did martial arts, boxing, sword stuff, training everything, wire work," she recalled. "It was the most fun."
According to Eve, performing action sequences quickly became one of her favorite parts of the production.
"Doing the fight scenes was so much fun. I didn't even know that I had to do any stunts on this production," she said.
Eve also spoke warmly about working with Milly, whom she described as a constant source of support throughout filming.
"I love her to bits. She was always there for me on set," Eve said, adding that they have remained in touch even after production.
As a newcomer working on her first feature film, Eve said Milly helped guide her through the experience and eased the pressure that came with such a major project.
"Milly was always there," she said. "As much as I was under pressure, she made it a lot better."
Eve added that she learned a great deal from her co-star and admired the way Milly brought the character of Kara Zor-El, also known as Supergirl, to life on screen.
"She's such an amazing actress, and I've learned stacks from her," Eve said.
Supergirl is set to open in cinemas worldwide on June 26, 2026, with select markets offering preview screenings a day earlier on June 25.
