'Firefly' bagged several nominations at the 40th PMPC Star Awards for Movies. Congratulations!

Firefly is up for several awards as it bags 15 nominations at the 40th PMPC Star Awards for Movies.

The acclaimed film produced by GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs is nominated for Movie of the Year, while Firefly director Zig Dulay vies for the Director of the Year award.

Sparkle child actor Euwenn Mikaell, who played the role of Young Tonton in Firefly, is looking to bring home the Movie Child Performer of the Year award, while Kapuso star Ysabel Ortega, who portrayed the character Erika, is nominated for New Movie Actress of the Year.

In addition, Miguel Tanfelix and Ysabel Ortega are nominated for Movie Loveteam of the Year.

Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes as well as seasoned stars Alessandra De Rossi and Cherry Pie Picache are likewise nominated for Movie Supporting Actor of the Year and Movie Supporting Actress of the Year, respectively.

The whole cast of Firefly is also up for the Movie Ensemble Acting of the Year.

Meanwhile, Firefly writer and GMA Public Affairs Assistant Vice President Angeli Atienza is nominated for Movie Screenwriter of the Year, while award-winning cinematographer Neil Daza vies for the Movie Cinematographer of the Year award.

Benjo Ferrer is up for Movie Editor of the Year, while Len Calvo is looking to bring home the award for Movie Musical Scorer of the Year.

Vying for the Movie Production Design of the Year award is Kenneth Kevin Villanueva, while Albert Michael Idioma is nominated for Movie Sound Engineer of the Year.

Firefly was an official entry to the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival and the said movie was hailed as Best Picture, Best Screenplay for Angeli Atienza, and Best Child Performer for Euwenn Mikaell.
