Firefly in the US


'Firefly' is spreading across the United States as it begins showing in select theaters starting February 16.

Firefly, the Best Picture of the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival, will be shown across the United States beginning February 16.

In California, where the film held its premiere for Manila International Film Festival, will be shown in the cities of Carson, Cerritos, Elk Grove, Milpitas, San Bruno, San Diego, Union City, Vallejo, and West Covina.

In other US States, Firefly will also be shown in Aiea, Hawaii; Kapolei, Hawaii; Las Vegas, Nevada; Olympia, Washington; Portland, Oregon; and Richmond, Texas.

Firefly is also available in Tamuning, Guam, and Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands.

Firefly tells the story of Tonton (Euwenn Mikaell) and his journey as he finds the mythical island of fireflies based on his mother, Elay's (Alessandra De Rossi), bedtime stories.

Along the way, Tonton meets three strangers - Billy (Miguel Tanfelix), Erika (Ysabel Ortega), and Mang Louie (Epy Quizon) - who will either help him or hinder his quest.

Also part of the ensemble cast are Cherry Pie Picache, Yayo Aguila, and Kokoy De Santos, with the special participation of Max Collins and Dingdong Dantes.

In the Metro Manila Film Festival, Firefly also won the Best Screenplay Award for Angeli Atienza, and Best Child Performer for Euwenn Mikaell.

In the inaugural Manila International Film Festival , Firefly also won the Best Picture, Best Screenplay, Best Supporting Actress for Alessandra, and Best Director for Zig Dulay.
