Flow G and Angelica Yap have issued their statement regarding the alleged copying of BTS's “Ddaeng.”

Content creator Angelica Yap defends boyfriend Flow G from the alleged plagiarism issue involving a song he and fellow Ex Batallion member Skusta Clee used to advertise a local clothing brand.

According to Angelica, Flow G was unaware of the song “Ddaeng,” that was written and performed by K-pop boy group BTS, at the time of the release of their promotional video.

“Even though I'm not a K-pop fan, I truly respect and admire everyone that is. But for the record, Ddaeng isa great song, and I/we haven't heard it until now,” she posted on Twitter.

“I wish we had heard it sooner so we could've avoided this misunderstanding.”

Angelica further elaborates that she was there during the infancy of the one minute track and that the song was created entirely “from scratch.”

“I know deep in my core that the similarity of the song is unintentional,” she said.

“We apologize if we offended some of you in any way.”

Concluding her statement, Angelica said Flow G has been dealing with the issue rather “positively” even after losing a “million-peso deal.”

“My man lost a million-peso deal today because of this and that's okay. All respect for him on how he's handling everything positively.

“I just hope and pray that as human [sic], may we never forget to still be compassionate to others and let the kindness in your hearts remain. God bless everyone,” she said.

Flow G's statement

Meanwhile, Ex Batallion member Flow G issued a statement on his Facebook page about the said issue and clarified that he used generic flow, words, and beats to create the song “Deym.”

“Gumamit ako ng 'generic flow,' 'generic words', at 'generic beat' na pinagawa ko kay Flip D para sa promotion video ng sarili kong brand,” he wrote.

“Sorry sa fans na ibang klase sumuporta sa mga idolo nila. 'Di ko kayo masisisi kung ano'ng pumapasok sa isip n'yo.

“'Wag kayong mag-alala naiintindihan ko kayo. Sana lahat ng taga-hanga ganyan sumuporta.”

On October 5, BTS fans called out Ex Batallion rappers Flow G and Skusta Clee for allegedly plagiarizing the BTS song “Ddaeng” to promote a local clothing brand.
