Heart Evangelista is bringing in the laughs as she mistook a plate of rice for a popular Filipino sweet flat rice cake.

“Thought of the day… bakit kasi hindi na lang naging palitaw. Well, 'wag ipilit ang hindi talaga,” conceded Kapuso actress Heart Evangelista on Thursday, October 22.

The tweet is about her viral “palitaw” comment to a fan's luxury-inspired food entry after she mistook a plate of rice, designed in Chanel and Louis Vuitton logos, for the popular Filipino sweet flat rice cake.

In case you didn't know, Heart inadvertently started a trend among her Twitter fans recently after her photo of her Chanel logo-shaped fries became viral online.

“OMG, is that palitaw??! That's my fav!” she said while replying to the netizen who posted a photo of his entry.

Heart's response elicited funny comments from fans and even gained traction on the social media platform as it earned more than 13K Likes, 2,000 Retweets, and 491 comments.

Others dared the multi-talented Kapuso star to try her hand in creating a palitaw inspired by her latest Chanel food creations.

Response to bashers

The Queen of Creative Collaborations also responded to her bashers on Twitter after going viral on different social media platforms for her Chanel-inspired fries.

While she generally gained positive reviews for her creation, others also criticized the actress by calling it an “ostentatious display of wealth.”

The Kapuso actress took the comments in stride. Her response? “Malay. 'Di nga ako nabusog kasi kinain ko mga cut outs.”

She even shared tips on how to recreate her food creations without buying the Chanel cookie-cutter.
