Filipino child actor JM Canlas has died on August 3, 2023. He was 17.
In a post on Facebook, JM's eldest brother Jerom shared the sad news to the public. JM was a TV, theatre, and film actor, and a younger brother of actor Elijah Canlas.
"It is with the heaviest heart and deep sorrow that our family announces the death of our bunso, Jamile Matthew Madiclum Canlas, earlier this morning. He was 17," the statement read.
"Jm, as he was known to many, was a talented actor, athlete, musician, singer, debater, and gamer. He was always a proud Filipino with a bias and compassion for the poor and oppressed. But most of all, JM will forever be remembered as an incredible young man, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, student, and friend."
The wake of JM will begin on August 4, 8pm, at St. Peter Chapel Quezon Avenue, Room 116.
"Let us celebrate his short but wonderful life, as he would want us to," he ended.
After the announcement of the sad news, Jerom changed his profile picture as he apologized to his youngest brother.
"Walang hanggang paalam at patawad. Mahal na mahal ka ni Kuya. Mahal na mahal na mahal na mahal na mahal na mahal na mahal na mahal," he wrote.
