The talented quick hitter donned the national uniform when she was part of the team that competed in the Southeast Asian Games in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2021.

In addition, Aby was also instrumental in the national squad winning the Bronze medal in the first and second leg of the 2019 ASEAN Grand Prix.

In an interview with Philippine Daily Inquirer, she discussed her reasons why it was time to leave.

She stated, “Retirement means time and space for my other passion. I think oras na para sa new blood.”

“I'm grateful to all my teammates, coaches and National Sports Associations that I've worked with within the years I played for the country, and especially to those who believed and trusted my talent. But I won't be here forever, so it's time for new leadership,”

Meanwhile, former Ateneo player Maddie Madayag reacted to Aby's announcement on Instagram telling her that she's “the best.”
