Manuel Olazo on being a food vlogger: “I don't know until when kami susuportahan ng mga tao pero we'll try our best to be innovative din.”

Food vlogger Manuel Olazo is finally reaping what he sowed after being named as one of TikTok's top food creators during the #FoodFestonTiktok event held recently.

Manuel is one of the local food vloggers who are eager to find new food spots and share their discoveries to the public through social media.

It was only during the pandemic when the former hotel employee started creating online content. In fact, in 2019, his first channel was about sneakers. However, Manuel shifted his focus as a vlogger because he wanted to widen his reach as a content creator.

In a previous interview with GMANetwork.com, Manuel mentioned, “I was thinking na I want to have a content that can relate to more people. So, since I have a food background sa hotels and my family background is food, my family has a catering business. So, I started doing food sa content sa TikTok. I'm just sharing what I eat kasi I like trying good food talaga.”

As a former hotel employee, Manuel said doing food content, especially about small businesses, gives a different satisfaction as a vlogger.

“Nakakatuwa yung feeling na parang, I think, I'm part of why it happened parang ganun, self-gratifying siya. At the same time, I get to try new food na hindi ko naman nata-try kasi nga dati based on restaurants lang ako.”

As a vlogger, Manuel believes that content creation will continue to help businesses reach out to their market.

“Sa tingin ko, malaking bagay talaga. Now, restaurants and businesses are realizing the power of social media. Sa tingin ko, it's her to stay, unless may bagong maimbento.

“In terms of us naman, I don't know until when kami susuportahan ng mga tao pero we'll try our best to be innovative din,” he ended.

Aside from Manuel, his fellow Team Patakam members Naomi Peña, Ran Uy Mamangun, and Jayzar Recinto were also among TikTok's top food creators.
