FPJ sa GMA

GMA Network is wrapping up the year with a holiday treat, featuring the timeless films from the one and only “Da King” of Philippine movies, Fernando Poe Jr., for a truly classic Pinoy Christmas via 'FPJ sa GMA.'

To kick off this year-end watchlist, the 1973 romantic-comedy Karnabal, airing on December 7, brings a traveling carnival to life. FPJ plays a skilled mechanic who falls for the daughter of a carnival owner, Susan Roces, showcasing their charming chemistry. Their romance, complicated by other characters, leads to a series of comedic and action-packed moments.

Taking the next shot on December 14 is the 1985 film Isa-Isa Lang, an action-filled billiards drama that follows Carding (FPJ), a skilled player who relies on the game to support his family. His life takes a turn when gamblers accuse him of cheating, drawing him and Marianne Dela Riva's character into a tense struggle for truth and revenge.

Kapuso viewers are in for a Christmas treat this December 21 as Da King FPJ and superstar Nora Aunor team up in Little Christmas Tree. Released in 1977, this Filipino action film tells the story of a man seeking justice for his family while upholding his honor.

Bringing the holiday lineup to a close is the 2002 MMFF entry Ang Alamat ng Lawin on December 28, starring FPJ as the heroic lead Lawin. The story follows a group of children who are transported to a mystical world and must join forces with Lawin to defeat evil. This film also marks Poe's final directorial project.
