This Sunday, October 26, 'FPJ Sa GMA' will showcase the 1971 historical action film 'Asedillo', featuring the captivating performances of Fernando Poe Jr. and Barbara Perez.
FPJ Sa GMA is set to take another restored classic of The King of Philippine Movies, Fernando Poe Jr., into the spotlight.
This Sunday, October 26, it will highlight the 1971 film Asedillo, which features one of FPJ's most iconic roles, showcasing a gripping tale of rebellion and heroism. The action-drama movie also stars Barbara Perez, adding depth to its powerful narrative.
Set during the American occupation of the Philippines, Asedillo follows Teodoro Asedillo (Fernando Poe Jr.), a principled schoolteacher who becomes a revolutionary after witnessing injustice and oppression. Dismissed for his beliefs, he leads the Anak Pawis movement to fight for workers' rights and social justice.
Asedillo also stars Jose Romulo, Lito Anzures, Carlos Padilla Jr., Paquito Diaz, among others. It is directed and written by Celso AD. Castillo.
