
This Sunday, FPJ Sa GMA is set to take another restored classic of The King of Philippine Movies, Fernando Poe Jr., into the spotlight.
FPJ Sa GMA will feature the 1982 film Pepeng Kaliwete, starring the action star as the titular character. The movie follows "Pepeng Kaliwete" who is introduced as a left-handed marksman shaped by a difficult past. The son of a poor sugarcane farmer, he experiences significant hardship early in life, leading him to leave his hometown and develop exceptional survival and shooting skills, fueled by a strong sense of justice.
Pepeng Kaliwete also features a strong supporting cast, including Marianne de la Riva, Paquito Diaz, Anita Linda, Ruel Vernal, and Rodolfo "Boy" Garcia.
It is directed by Pablo Santiago and written by Fred Navarro, based on a story by Alex M. Sunga, with music composed by Ernani Cuenco. Produced by Da King under FPJ Productions, the film was released in the Philippines on June 4, 1982.
