Fra Lippo Lippi manila concert 2023

Fra Lippo Lippi, headed by lead vocalist and keyboardist Per Sorensen, returns to the Philippines with a two-part concert, happening at The Theatre at Solaire on Friday, June 16, and the Santa Rosa Sports Complex on Saturday, June 17.

After five years, Fra Lippo Lippi, headed by lead vocalist and keyboardist Per Sorensen, returns to the Philippines for a two-night concert this week.

Sorensen will be performing at The Theatre at Solaire this Friday, June 16, and the Santa Rosa Sports Complex in Laguna on Saturday, June 17.

"I'm really happy to have the experience of playing for so many Filipinos because I know that you guys love singing so I'm always very happy and welcome, and I'm very thankful for that," the Norwegian pop act told reporters in a press conference.

Fra Lippo Lippi had been performing in the country since 1988 and had sold-out shows after gaining huge popularity because of their hits "Everytime I See You," "Beauty and Madness," "Light and Shade," "The Distance Between Us," "Angel," "Stitches and Burns," and more.

“We didn't know that we were that big," Sorensen recalled.

"We played at the Folk Arts Theater for six nights in a row. That was so fantastic. We came from Japan...we just played there earlier in a club for two nights in Tokyo and, all of a sudden, there were so many people wanting to come and see us. That was a shock, really."

He also looked back at the time when he got to see the beauty of Banaue rice terraces when he had a side trip there when they had a show in Baguio in 2011. "I played in Baguio, it's really nice there. I've been to Banaue at the rice terraces and everything out there is really nice, fresh air."

The two-night concert is supported by Steve Hovington of B-Movie, who will be performing with Fra Lippo Lippi's Per Sorensen at both venues.
