Fran Drescher, the star and producer 'The Nanny', teases a reunion of the sitcom's original cast.

The original cast of beloved '90s sitcom The Nanny is set to reunite, according to star and producer Fran Drescher.

In a series of tweets on April 1, Drescher revealed that the cast will do a virtual table read of the show's pilot episode.

According to entertainment outlet Variety, the virtual table read will be held via video conferencing platform Zoom.

The video will then be posted on the official YouTube channel of Sony Pictures on April 6.

"It's a once in a lifetime Pandemic Performance for our fans around the world who are currently stressing in isolation and could use a real upper! It sure has given each of us a lift and we hope it does for you as well," Drescher tells Variety.

Cast members Charles Shaughnessy, Daniel Davis, Lauren Lane, Nicholle Tom, Benjamin Salisbury, Madeline Zima, Renee Taylor, Alex Sternin, Ann Hampton Callaway, DeeDee Rescher, Rachel Chagall, and Jonathan Penner are expected to participate in the virtual table read.

The Nanny tells the story of Fran Fine who tries to sell cosmetics to British Broadway producer Maxwell Sheffield but ends up being the nanny of his three children.
