Fans of “The Next Big Star” grand winner Frencheska Farr are celebrating the release of her debut solo album under GMA Records. starsThe 10-track CD is comprised of mostly original songs. Two of the cuts have been handpicked to be the theme songs of the two important teleseryes in the network. “We made sure po na ‘yung mga kantang nandito sa album ko madaling sabayan,” said the 18-year grand winner in last year’s Are You The Next Big Star? on GMA-7. Frencheska, a GMA Artist Center (GMAAC) talent, hugged the limelight early this year when she bested an outstanding list of auditioners to play lead character Amelia Florentino in the first-ever full-length Filipino musical Emir megged by Chito Rono who only had nice things to say about the neophyte actress. Frencheska's debut album is called Inside My Heart. Its carrier single Today I’ll See The Sun is expected to shine, especially with its upbeat groove and lyrics that will easily win the listener. Frencheska says, “’the album's title is 'Inside my Heart’ because it is very appropriate. Somehow, at this stage in my life, I feel like I am doing that exactly, expressing different emotions through the different songs." The music video for the carrier single has been painstakingly put together by a great team of production experts from the director down to the last creative team member. Watch out for the cameo appearances of surprise Kapuso artists who all lent their support to Frencheska for this album. The music video is directed by film student and actress Bianca King. The CD’s originals are penned by super songwriter Vehnee Saturno, with significant help from Rebel Magdangasan who wrote the carrier pick and another piece called Everytime which became theme for the network’s Tween Hearts series. The latter is the same writer for I Know which made Yasmien Kurdi into a recording star. Her version of Ang Pag-ibig Kong Ito is also the theme song of the highest-rating Koreanovela Temptation of a Wife. 80s music fans, on the other hand, get a big treat with her take on U2’s I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For. The Next Big Star is not new to singing theme songs. She sang with Next Male Big Star Geoff Taylor the Donna Cruz-hit Hulog Ng Langit for the Heart Evangelista-Mark Herras-starrer Langit Sa Piling Mo.” She also performed Reunions as theme for Q-11’s program of the same title. One of her album’s Saturno’s compositions Isama Mo Ako will be used for the upcoming Captain Barbell series. Frencheska accomplished much already in this debut album of hers – that is to showcase her versatility as a singer as well as bring to fore a wide range of emotions called for in every song delivered in this much-awaited record outing. Nominated for Best New Artist in the recent Star Awards, Frencheska is poised to launch her first album in Party Pilipinas on Dec. 12 on GMA-7. Text and photo courtesy of GMA Nework
