tiktok videos typhoon odette

Filipinos have proven once again that we are resilient.

The aftermath of Typhoon Odette is no laughing matter, but some TikTokerists managed to make the most out of a bad deal by creating videos that deliver some much-needed comic relief.

In a recent episode of Mars Pa More, hosts Iya Villania, Camille Prats, and Kuya Kim Atienza watched and reacted to TikTok videos that were shot after Typhoon Odette wreaked havoc in Cebu, Bohol, Palawan, Surigao, Dinagat Islands and other provinces in Visayas and Mindanao.

In the first TikTok video, content creator @shellylicious showed the fallen trees in their home and made light of the situation by thanking Typhoon Odette for the free coconuts.

“My family would like to thank, Bagyong Odette--it's very hot now--for the free coconuts,” she said. "Woooohh!!! Thank you, Odette, for making tumba the coconut tree and the manga tree that destroyed our wall. And my propagations (also got) destroyed. Okay?”

“So, we are still waiting for the chainsaw. But I always look to the positive side of life. And thank you, Bagyong Odette, for our free coconuts. We're gonna have buko…buko salad,” she added.

She then spoke in Bisaya and asked for a drinking glass so she can drink the juice from the coconut.

Another hilarious video that the Mars Pa More hosts and celebrity guests Samantha Lopez and Sheree Bautista watched is the video uploaded by @ricahrdsabijon.

In the said video, Richard and a companion re-enacted the famous scene of Jack and Rose in the movie Titanic.

Using a wood plank and while submerged in flood inside of their home, they acted out the scene where Jack slowly drowns and Rose lets go of his hand.

The Mars Pa More hosts all agreed that while it is hard to laugh considering what all the Typhoon Odette survivors are going through, they commend these content creators for being witty and choosing to have fun and look at the bright side despite their situation.
