A very vulnerable Gabbi Garcia is seen on Instagram today as she wrote a lengthy but sweet message to her boyfriend of three years, Khalil Ramos, as they celebrate their anniversary together last Saturday, February 22.
On Instagram, the Kapuso actress described her relationship as something that was “filled with so many learnings.”
“You [Khalil Ramos] taught me that there are different kinds of love and that it's not all about the butterflies in your stomach, or the flowers, or the sweet surprises.
“It's about your 'Partnership.' How one can drop everything and be selfless and give what your partner needs at the very moment.
“Love is not quantifiable. Love is not always fair, and it's okay. Because love is sacrificing, love is your willingness to leap and cross the world to understand and help your partner.
“Love heals wounds. Love is choosing you despite all the negativity in this world.”
According to Gabbi, it was Khalil who showed her all these and, at the same time, made her feel safe despite the odds.
“You made me feel that I was worth every bit of your time and effort and that you would still choose me at the end of the day. Every single day.
“Here's to our love. Happy anniversary, Kali,” she concluded with a heart emoji.
Despite working for different networks, Gabbi and Khalil have made their relationship work by being smart with their time and effort as a couple
In their vlog, Gabbi explained, “I'm really lucky with Khal because, from the very start, he made it a point na, 'Okay, we were gonna be smart about this relationship.
“'We can't repeat all our wrongdoings in our past relationships and just put it in this relationship because this one should be different.
“'This should be a smart relationship. This one should have a strong foundation.'
“And I think it helped a lot.”
The two met in 2015 when Khalil joined Gabbi in Hong Kong to shoot her music video titled, “All I Need.” And the rest, as they say, was history.
Gabbi and Khalil recently teamed up in last year's Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino entry LSS where they played the roles of Sara and Zack. Sara is an aspiring musician and Zack is a yearning son who both find themselves in a series of not-so-romantic encounters as they follow an indie-folk band.
