
Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos extended their help to Typhoon Odette (Rai) survivors in Bohol after their plans to welcome the new year in the said province were called off due to the calamity.
“Khalil Ramos and I, together with our families, were supposed to celebrate the New Year in Bohol. But then, Typhoon Odette happened. We decided to donate and help out the Boholaños instead,” she wrote in an Instagram story on Monday, January 10.
The former Encantadia actress also expressed her appreciation for the Bohol-based island resort who helped them arrange the relief initiative for the locals at Poblacion Ondol.
She also urged her fans and followers to aid the recovery of typhoon-hit communities if they can, “If you're reading this, it's never too late to help out.”
On Tuesday, January 4, Bohol recorded at least 111 fatalities after Typhoon Odette pummelled the province and other areas of Visayas and Mindanao in December last year.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office chief Dr. Anthony Damalerio also announced that the initial damage incurred in Bohol for all sectors amounted to a total of Php 10 billion.
Meanwhile, many other local celebrities have also heeded the call of communities severely affected by Typhoon Odette, including Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards, Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez, and Kapuso power couple Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado among others.
