The Kapuso actress encouraged people to be kinder with their words amidst today's culture of cyberbullying.
During Mentos Philippines' campaign launch for Mentos CompliMentos, Gabbi shared her thoughts on giving compliments as a way to spread more good vibes.
She said, “It could change someone's day. It could make or break someone's day. It's time to spread positivity to everybody.
"Imagine a world where it's normal to give compliments, parang ang saya. It's so peaceful and light. Everybody's just pulling each other up.”
Gabbi also participated in a social experiment conducted by Mentos Philippines, where she and actor Paulo Avelino randomly approached bystanders and complimented them.
She said, “The experience is priceless. This is the first time for me to do this [experiment]. In fact, Filipinos are not used to receiving compliments or giving compliments.
"We just don't know the value of compliments as it can make someone's day or make them happier. We're clueless about what they're going through.
"By complimenting them, with that simple way of spreading positivity, you could change someone's day.”
Gabbi added, "Giving compliments without expecting something in return and just giving positive compliments, spreading love and peace to anyone you meet is my greatest takeaway with this social experiment.”
The Beautiful Justice actress also spoke about selflessness by speaking kindly without any ulterior motive.
“Giving compliments without actually expecting something in return…just freely giving positive compliments, and spreading love, peace, and light without expecting something in return.”
