Gabbi Garcia recalls how she bagged the role of Sang'gre Alena in 'Encantadia' and her reaction when she got the part.
Gabbi Garcia can't help but reminisce about her role in Encantadia now that the award-winning telefantasya is having a rerun on GMA Primetime.
In an exclusive Kapuso Showbiz News interview, Gabbi talked about her special connection with her character, Sang'gre Alena, and the fan love she receives to this day thanks to her iconic role.
"Besides that being my biggest break, ako personally, I admire my character.
"How Alena turned out lalo na sa dulo. 'Di ba everybody thought at first na wala siyang laban because she was kind of weak in a way?
"She doesn't want violence kaya I admire how it turned out na how she used her love for everybody para maging powerful and to conquer Lireo later on.
"Nakaka-throwback siya sobra kasi nga lagi kong sinasabi na Encantadia kasi, para kaming pamilya.
"Mayroong times na sad times, may happy times, how a family treats each other, parang ganoon kami sa Encantadia. Especially now, mayroon kaming new audience, and I see every day na nagte-trend pa rin sa Twitter so you know, the impact is always there talaga.
"The magic of Encantadia will always be there," she said.
Gabbi still remembers the time when she finally got her dream role.
"Sama sama kaming final cast, ako, 'yung mga Sang'gre, si Rocco (Nacino), and si Ruru (Madrid). So kaming anim.
"Kinakabahan kami but then 'nung tinawag kami as a whole cast, doon lang nila na-break 'yung news.
"Nagulat na kami, may cameras na 'eh. Sabi namin 'Eto na ba 'yon?' Sobrang memorable talaga, may photos kami noon 'eh, gulat na gulat kami," Gabbi recalled.
