Despite not understanding the language primarily used in the series, Conan said that he was impressed when the pilot episode of Encantadia was shown at the press conference.

Conan Stevens, who played the Mountain in Game of Thrones, made an appearance at the Encantadia Grand Press Conference last July 13 to answer a few questions members of the media have for him.

Conan was asked why he chose to join the cast of Encantadia 2016.

"This is a good move career-wise [and] it's enjoyable. To be honest, the way I built my career was, I built up my career working in Thailand, China, and India. I can add Philippines as a base where I'm known as recognized celebrity, [so when] I get back to the U.S., I bring a larger audience behind me. That makes me more valuable as an actor to the producers," the international actor answered.

Despite not understanding the language primarily used in the series, Conan said that he was impressed when the pilot episode of Encantadia was shown at the press conference.

According to Conan, "This is just the first offering so far and I am impressed. The use of the filters, the camera work, the acting; I don't understand Tagalog, I do admit that, but there's a lot more to watch than just the vocabulary. I'm impressed with what's happened with the first show."

He was also asked if he sees some similarities between Game of Thrones and Encantadia.

"I can see the inspiration, I can see the similarities. The show will start and find it's own way. There's going to be some similarities right now but I think the Filipinos' creativity is world-class. This is just the demonstration of what is the start of something that's going to be really big," he admitted.

Lastly, Conan shared that he was eager to work with the cast and crew because according to him, "Filipinos have an international reputation for being friendly and polite so I'm looking forward to working with the whole crew, this is going to be really nice."
