Paolo Valenciano is Gary Valenciano's director for his upcoming 'Pure Energy: One Last Time' concert.
In celebration of his 40th anniversary in the industry, seasoned singer-performer Gary Valenciano will have a three-night concert titled “Pure Energy: One Last Time” on April 26, 27, and May 10 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The concert will be directed by his son, Paolo Valenciano.
On Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, the King of Talk asked Gary how he and Paolo work together.
“Do you always agree with each other?” Boy Abunda asked Gary.
“No,” the singer answered immediately.
“Who has the final say?” Boy asked again.
“I do, and Paolo is the one who tells me that,” Gary shared.
Gary says that his son Paolo gives him the freedom to decide on every aspect of his show.
“He goes, 'Dad, I'm the director but it's your show. People are coming to see you. So, you have to tell me, are you okay with this or not,'” Gary explained.
The musician added that he and his director son never argue.
“But we never argue. We never like… No. hindi gano'n. Sometimes we just laugh. We compromise and then we come up with something,” Gary claimed.
Gary had his first-ever concert in April 1984. This April 2024, he is going to make an incredible concert once again after 40 years.
