Inanunsyo ng Team Gary V.: "It's a go! Today's Sunday DECEMBER 22 show will be pushing through."
Determinado ang singer-songwriter na ipagpatuloy ang ikalawang gabi ng kanyang two-night concert na Pure Energy: One More Time sa Araneta Coliseum ngayong Linggo, December 22. Ito ay sa kabila ng naging insidente sa unang show noong Biyernes, December 20.
Base sa kanyang Facebook post, inihayag ng OPM icon, “I will be at the Araneta today. No weapon formed against me will prosper.”
Kasunod nito ay ang pahayag mula sa talent management niyang Manila Genesis.
“It's a go! Today's Sunday DECEMBER 22 show will be pushing through. Thank you everyone for your prayers, especially our DEC 22 ticket buyers for your patience and understanding.
“We apologize for any inconvenience during the standby for this announcement. The decision of Gary came with much prayer. We will see you later tonight 8PM at SMART ARANETA COLISEUM for Gary V PURE ENERGY One More Time!”
Matatandaan na noong Biyernes ay natigil ang pagpe-perform ni Gary dahil sa masamang pakiramdam.
Sa kalagitnaan ng kanyang show, sandaling huminto si Gary para umupo at sinabi sa kanyang audience: “I don't know if I can finish this show.
“But what I want to do, is I want to do the songs that I know can speak into your hearts,”
“It breaks my heart to know that we have prepared so much for all of you. But the body is saying, 'Gary, be cautious, Gary. You have many more years to go.'”
Base sa update ng asawa niyang si Angeli Pangilinan, bago pa man magsimula ang concert ay masama na ang pakiramdam ng tinaguriang Mr. Pure Energy.
Ayon pa kay Angeli, nanghina ang batikang singer dahil sa dehydration na naging bunga ng pagsusuka niya bago ang show.
“He ingested something and vomited so many times in the last two hours. He wasn't sure he could do this concert. The doctors were backstage and he had an IV … and he said he wants to do it! But he has since sang six songs.. changing the repertoire … please continue to pray,” aniya.
Sa hiwalay na post, ipinakita rin niya ang video ni Gary na nagsabing, “Hey guys, I'm getting better. Good people taking care of me. I'll be okay, don't worry. God bless.”
Ang concert series na Pure Energy ay bahagi ng selebrasyon ni Gary para sa kanyang ika-40 na anibersaryo sa showbiz.
