Gary Valenciano feels grateful about still being able to experience working with young music artists today.
In an interview with GMANetwork.com, Gary gave an enthusiastic smile when asked about this, “I'm blessed na at least sa lifetime ko, nakasama ko ang the likes of BINI, SB19, Gloc-9, Rayver [Cruz] was a part of my concert, Julie Anne [San Jose] was a part of my concert, Ice Seguerra…
“So, parang feeling ko ang sarap na mabuhay ngayon in the music industry. At after 40 years, nabibigyan pa ako ng pagkakataong ganito. I cannot tell you enough how thankful I am.”
Aside from performing with them, Gary also hopes to collaborate with them.
He said, “I would like to collaborate with the likes of SB19 and BINI. Yung collaborate, hindi ibig sabihin performance. It could be I help write with them, for them to sing. Ngayon, kung dumating ang pagkakataon na makasulat din kami ng kanta na duet like, BINI and Gary V., why not?
The industry's Mr. Pure Energy said this is an opportunity to learn new things from the new generation of music artists.
“Kasi, alam mo, isa sa frustrations ko is I never took up music. Pati yung mga tinutugtog ko sa keyboard, hindi ko naman alam kung ano yung mga key or what scale. Wala akong alam sa mga ganun. But I wanted to learn to become a good audio engineer para makatulong sa ibang artists. These are the things that I wish I did and maybe I can still do by just learning and still learning. It never stops,” he said.
Aside from this, Gary also noted that it's a perfect time now to create new music as different genres are getting equal attention.
So to aspiring music artists, the OPM icon advised, “You don't have to sound like mga ganito, kailangan ang tunog ganito… Pwede ninyong subukan. Pero as you're creating your music at mag-branch out sa iba't ibang tunog, baka ganun talaga ang tunog ninyo. Don't worry about sounding like others, just sound the way you wanna sound. Basta it's good music, you will have a following and you will build up a community.”

Meanwhile, ending the year when he's celebrating his 40th showbiz anniversary, Gary is set to return to Araneta to stage “Pure Energy: One More Time.”
This two-day event is a repeat of his successful anniversary concert called “Pure Energy: One Last Time” at the Mall of Asia Arena last April 2024.
“The fact that my career has taken me all around the world, what better way to have it done first run in MOA and the second run in Araneta. I've covered all the bases. Plus, Araneta bring up the request na, 'Tutal, nag-umpisa ka naman 40 years ago dito sa amin, sana kumpletuhin mo na rin yung journey mo with us,” said Gary about doing a concert in Araneta on December 20 and 22.
When they conceptualized “One Last time,” Gary said, “A repeat is usually expected, you know. Ang hindi ko lang alam is kung kaya ko pa ba ang repeat. Kasi, mahaba ang concert na 'to, e. It's one of my longest concerts. Ang mabuti is that many people will say, 'Huh? Tiningnan namin yung oras, doon lang namin na-realize na ang haba pala.' During the concert, hindi nila na-feel na mahaba ang concert. Only when they went to their car and looked at the time.”
Gary is looking forward to doing the repeat concert as he still loves giving an all-out performance to his fans.
“Nandito pa rin, e, kaya I'm excited to do the show. I know that I will be able to do it to the level that they deserve nila.”
As for his fans, Gary said they should watch for his guests this time.
“I willcome up with a full list of guests in a few days. Yung guests, yun ang pinakamatinding pagbabago. But it will not be the change na ang layo naman sa original, sa first time. It will be very much the same, iba lang yung performers.
“Ngayon pa lang, nagpapasalamat na talaga ako sa kanila. It's very hard to bring guests for a concert like this and it's Christmas time. It's the last five or three days before Christmas, so they have their own things going. But they all agreed to appear, so I'm truly grateful for that,” he concluded.
