Gary Valenciano is about to have his 100th show at the Music Museum.

Gary Valenciano is about to reach his 100th show at the popular concert venue Music Museum. To celebrate it, the OPM icon offers a reimagination of his previous shows to his fans.

Dubbed as “Gary V, is set to return to Music Museum,” the show was initially produced in time for his 59th birthday celebration in August 2023. The repeat shows this October and November mark his return to the iconic venue where he previously showed off his electrifying performances.

During his 97th show on Friday, October 20, Gary, who is known in showbiz as Mr. Pure Energy, looked back and related to the audience why Music Museum has an important mark in his showbiz career.

He said, “I guess it's obvious that this is the place I performed in the most and why it's the place where I get to try out new ideas. I mean, an entire show like for example, I think we have a sample of this one, in 2005. I was celebrating my 22nd version, my son Gabriel, we were here. And then we also had this one, which was well 'Gary V @ 23' by 23rd in the industry, which was also held here. And then there was the first directorial job Paolo Valenciano (his eldest son), 'On Higher Ground,' where we used a whole bunch of video mapping that was right here on this stage.

“It's here I get to do all of these things. And it cannot just be one song where you pour all of those ideas into. It's got to be one entire series.”

As for his current show, Gary admitted, “This series is not easy to me.”

Thanks to his son, Paolo, a sought-after concert director, who thought of a creative way to show his dad's past shows in “Back at the Museum” concert.

In a short interview with GMANetwork.com and select entertainment media, Gary related, “It was Angeli [Pangilinan, his wife] who reminded me that I'm probably one of the most documented male artists in the country. I have concerts that are documented from the provincial shows that I've had, it's all documented. So, when we were working on this one, we were thinking okay, what. Then, when Paolo heard, [he asked], 'That is documented? How many shows has he done?' Then, she said, 'Close to 100.' 'And that's documented?' 'Yeah.' Okay, dad, you have the tracks? You think we can sync?' I said, 'Yeah.'

“Ever since before, when I perform, I always perform with a click track, meaning the drummer is hearing [clicks] para sa ganun, hindi tayo bibilis. It's the only way the drummer can stay in beat, through a click track. It's been like that ever since, so we can get those [videos] and use it and go in sync with what we did tonight.”

In the first part of his show, Gary took a trip down memory lane by performing his classic hits such as “Mahal na Mahal,” You Got Me Working,” “Reaching Out,” “Gaya ng Dati,” and the special song he wrote for his wife titled “Fool Till the End.”

He was later joined by his daughter, Kianna, who flew in from the States, to perform with him until his 100th show at the Music Museum.

Together they performed Alicia Keys' “If I Ain't Got You” and Jose Mari Chan's “Can We Just Stop and Talk Awhile.” Then, Gary gave the floor to Kianna, who sang her 2022 song “Hearbeat on Me.”

In between segments, Gary V would talk to the concertgoers about his journey as a music artist. To delight them even further, the OPM artist performed three requests from the audience: the sentimental ballad “Pasko Na Sinta Ko,” the Bagets theme song “Growing Up,” and his dance hit “Hataw Na.”

The singer-songwriter also performed his praise songs such as “Shout for Joy” and “Take Me Out of the Dark.”

As the show was about to end, Gary seemed to have passed on his high energy to the audience, who started to stand up and dance while he was singing a medley of Earth Wind & Fire's songs for his encore performance.

Fans can still experience this intimate concert by Gary on October 27 and November 3 (his 100th show) at the Music Museum in Greenhill, San Juan City.
