As the coronation day of the first-ever Miss Universe Philippines draws near, Shamcey Supsup, who oversees this year's Miss Universe Philippines pageant, gladly shared that the committee of Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI) has allowed Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados to crown her successor.
Gazini was the last beauty queen crowned by the BPCI's Binibining Pilipinas pageant before the franchise was transferred to the newly-formed Miss Universe Philippines Organization (MUPO).

In an interview with 24 Oras, Shamcey expressed her graititude to BPCI and its National Director Stella Marquez-Araneta.
“We're so grateful to the BPCI and to Madame Stella for lending Gazini to be part of our Miss Universe Philippines pageant.
“Talagang we're praying for it. We're so grateful. Thank you very much for allowing her to crown our first-ever Miss Universe Philippines,” she said.
Meanwhile, Miss Universe Philippines has unveiled its dazzling “Filipina” crown, which showcases the Filipino identity, craftsmanship, and creativity.
The silver headpiece is embellished with the colors of the Philippine flag, with blue, red, and yellow stones.
The team behind the Filipina crown is spearheaded by Design Council head Albert Andrada, and made by local pawnshop Villarica.
Shamcey was named Miss Universe Philippines Organization national director in 2019.
