Geneva Cruz says, “Be humble kasi tumatanda ang lahat.”
At the age of 44 years old, Geneva Cruz is at the top of her game.
Unlike the rest of us, who wish to turn back time, the singer-actress said that she's enjoying getting older despite feeling like she's 54 years old.
“People always ask me if I have a 24-year-old son talaga kasi hindi raw ako mukhang 44… mukha raw akong 34,” she began in an Instagram post on Sunday, January 17.
“Yeah, my face and body look 34, but my back [due to scoliosis] and eyesight [make me] feel 54. Haha!”
Geneva even recalled when a basher told her she looked “too old” to be a singer despite not having an age limit to the said profession.
She said, “One ignorant woman on Facebook commented, and sabi n'ya, 'Don't sing anymore kasi ang tanda mo na!' [What?!?! May age limit pala ang pagkanta! Lol.]
“Sabi ko, 'You sound so smart when you're not talking, so please… don't open your mouth and quit embarrassing yourself.'
“Someday, that person, who is only 10 years younger than me (according to Facebook), will get older too. Wish ko lang sana when she gets to my age, kalahati man lang ng itsura ko ay makamit n'ya, which I doubt! Haha!”
Geneva added, “Pasensya na kasi pinaka ayoko sa lahat 'yung nagmamarunong pero walang laman 'yung ulo, pati puso wala rin. Bullies irritate me.”
The singer and mother of two explained she isn't too worried about the aging process, given that everybody will go through with it at one point or the other.
“I love getting older,” she exclaimed.
“I have learned to embrace it instead of fear it because everyone will get old naman someday. Be humble kasi tumatanda ang lahat, and when you get really old--be blessed because not everyone is given the opportunity to live a long life.”

This isn't the first time the fabulous 44-year-old shared her realizations about coming to terms with the way she looks.
In November, Geneva revealed in a tell-all post about what it's like going under the knife at 16 years old to please her peers and the entertainment industry.
And while she can no longer turn back time to realize this sooner, the former member of Smokey Mountain eventually cultivated her relationship with herself.
“Wala kayong kailangang baguhin sa mukha n'yo dahil maganda na kayo kahit ano pang sabihin nila,” she said on an Instagram post, addressing those who'd want to get plastic surgery.
“Pero, wala ring masama kung may gusto kayong baguhin basta ito ay talagang kagustuhan ninyo at hindi ng ibang tao.
“What I know now is that we derive our worth from the relationships we have in our lives-- romantic, social circle, work--we give away our power and become dependent upon external validation, and when that's taken away, our sense of value and identity goes with it.
“I am enough, and I am grateful.”
