Geneva Cruz

How did Geneva Cruz react after a netizen called her “matanda” at the age of 44 years old.

We can all agree that actress Geneva Cruz looks fantastic at the age of 44 years old.

However, this doesn't seem to sit well with one netizen who described the singer-actress as “matanda” in one of her Facebook posts.

In the comment section, the netizen said, “Wala na, matanda na.”

To which Geneva replied, “Mas matanda ka. Lakas mo makatanda d'yan LMAO. Matanda ka na, nainggit ka pa. Umayos ka nga po. Be nice to people.”

Geneva continued to explain why she called out her basher.

She said, “I didn't mean to put him on the hot seat. Minsan lang kasi, napakadaling maging rude sa social media kasi hindi naman natin nakikita ang tao ng personal. We can even change our appearances and pretend to be someone else para lang makasakit tayo ng kapwa natin.

“Sana lang, if you think saying something rude to someone makes you happy, make sure walang maibabatao sa inyo kasi hindi ko talaga maintindihan how someone who's older than me can say that I'm old.”

Geneva added, “Old? Just because I'm in my 40s, I'm old na? E, before nga, nasabihan ako na 'wag na ko kumanta because I'm old na? E, performing is my livelihood; it's how I support myself, my children, and my family. So excuse me lang if nagsasalita ako kung kinakailangan.”

The original Smokey Mountain member added that she feels very young inside despite hitting her 40s, adding, “Age is only a number.”

Geneva said, “You know why I look more youthful than my age? Because I choose only to wish my fellow people love and support… when someone needs uplifting, I'm all for it. I will remind that person that he or she is special.

“Life is too short to be remembered as someone rude and arrogant.”

Turning to her fans, Geneva asked that they let her bashers be and only wished him and his family well, noting, “If you're irritated with me, don't follow me.
