When Netflix released Korean drama Love Alarm in August 2019, it quickly rose to fame as one of the most popular K-dramas on the streaming site. And finally, after production delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it will air its second season on March 12, 2021.
Love Alarm was previously scheduled to return in August 2020.
Love Alarm is a Netflix original Korean romantic series based on the webtoon of the same name by author Chon Kye-Young. The premise revolves around a a highly digital society where an unknown web developer releases a dating app called Love Alarm that becomes a hit in South Korea.
The app notifies the user if someone who has romantic feelings for him/her is within 10 feet away. The app fascinates lead character, high school, student Jojo (Kim So-hyun). Soon, she finds herself caught in a love triangle between Lee Hye-Yeong (Jung Ga-ram) and his best friend Hwang Sun-oh (Song Kang), the handsome model.
By the end of season one, the app releases a version 2.0 update. With the new version, the app can now tell the user if a person within 10 meters truly loves him/her.
As the update goes live, Jojo discovers that not only does Lee Hye-Yeong love her, but so does Hwang Sun-oh. This was confirmed by the Love Alarm app when both of the boys were within the required radius covered by the app.
Jojo is now left with a choice, does she choose to return the feelings of Lee Hye-Yeong or does she pick the handsome model Hwang Sun-oh?
